Mass-spectrometer MTI-350GS

The mass-spectrometer MTI-350GS is intended for automatic control of the blend composition at sublimate production of the uranium hexafluoride and operative control of the technological process. Fluorination of the uranium protoxide-oxide in the flame reactor is performed during the sublimate production. In order to check the process it is necessary to analyze the contents of the following substances: hydrogen fluoride (HF), nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2), fluorine (F2), argon (Ar) and uranium hexafluoride (UF6). By comparing the results of composition measurement of the substances with the predetermined set-points the selection of the control and emergency signals is carried out. The mass-spectrometer MTI - 350GS provides for measurement of the gas blend composition and control over the reactor operation round-the-clock and continuously in fully automatic mode.

In order to provide commutation of gas flows to the ion source, calibration of the mass-spectrometer, control over the mode of the analyzed samples puffing, preparation and storage of calibration mixtures in the mass-spectrometer use is made of the stand for preparation of the calibration mixtures (CPCM). In order to keep samples containing uranium hexafluoride in gaseous state and to prevent condensation of uranium hexafluoride on the walls of the gas communications a part of the CPCM vacuum circuit is isolated from the environment by means of the active thermostat, and a temperature of 70°С to 90°С is maintained in the elements and assemblies located inside the thermostat. The CPCM is equipped with valves providing commutation of gas flows in the process of measurements and at preparation of the calibration mixtures, sensors and controllers of pressure in different parts of the vacuum circuit, as well as heaters, temperature sensors and controllers regulating the heating of separate assemblies of the temperature-controlled part.
