Main switching and distribution equipment

Distribution equipment EN8778 is intended for arrangement in the Integrated Communication Network of Russia of the cross switching of the audio-frequency analog signal circuits, digital electrical flows with rates of 2-155 Mbit/s, optical flows, as well as for ensuring measurements and checking of these signals in the process of testing and servicing.


Main switching and distribution equipment provides electrical protection of the copper-core communication cable circuits against dangerous overvoltage and excess currents occurring in the line. Main switching and distribution equipment is equipped with the alarm device.


By its climatic resistance the main switching and distribution equipment shall be classified as an article of УХЛ version, category 4.2 as per ГОСТ 15150-69. The main switching and distribution equipment EN8778 is intended for round-the-clock operation at a temperature of 5 °С to 40 °С, relative air humidity up to 80% at 25 °С and atmospheric pressure not lower than 60 kPa (450 mm Hg).


Composition of main switching and distribution equipment EN8778

Structurally the distribution equipment EN8778 consists of a number of racks of different height on which the patch panels, switching panels, and alarm device are installed. Height of the racks, types and number of patch panels shall be agreed upon at placing the order with account of data indicated in the table.
