QPort

Network elements monitoring and management system with a possibility of automatic paths laying

Thanks to that the Qport management system has a possibility of automatic collection of data about the network by the list of controlled elements and their IP-addresses the opportunity of centralized storage of the control information in the data base occurs.

The network information stored in the base is used by the Qport system to find all possible routes between two stations in the moment when it is necessary to prescribe a path between them, and can be used by other management systems or resource accounting systems.

There are four data sources thanks to which it is possible to make a complete description of the network:

  • Names of the devices (stations) and their IP-addresses,
  • Information about the neighboring elements,
  • Information about the network inventory,
  • Information about all existing cross-connect records.

Basing on this data it is possible to imagine the network topology and create a broad picture of all existing paths and recourses involved (logical and physical). The system has a possibility to add string mark to each path found in the network in order to output its assignment or number of order by which this path has been created.

In order to output the information about the network emergency condition use is made of the standard SNMP manager by means of which it is possible to control not only the multiplexor produced by FGUP EZAN but also any other equipment supporting the SNMP protocol (routers, switches, UPS, conditioners, etc.) In order to control the distributed networks use can be made of both the multi-console system with network separation by management areas (display areas) and “manager of managers” type hierarchy where the managing information is distributed through the local servers and there is the main server collecting the information from all subordinate servers.

At the present time the Qport supports the following EZAN/NEC equipment: SMS-150C, SMS-150V, SMS-600V, ENE-04, C-Node S1, C-Node, V-Node, V-Node S, U-Node WBM, U-Node BBM и Wavelength-division multiplexing equipment.
