ROADM SpectralWave DW4200

DW4200 is a configurable optical input-output multiplexer allowing fast and remote switching of optical paths DWDM of the communication operator network.

By means of the management system INC-100MS or local terminal in DW4200 it is possible to add or drop remotely any wave length at any network nodes. Besides, DW4200 can function as an optical switch with capacity of up to 320 per 320 wavelengths; at that, upgrading from ROADM system to WXC system is carried out with minimum costs without interruption of rendering services.

DW4200 is rack-mounted and has one shelf in minimum configuration, which allows input of up to 6 wavelengths. In order to increase a number of input and output wavelengths it is possible to use the extension shelves. Maximum number of wavelengths - 40 in one band.

DW4200 can also operate as a linear amplifier. Automatic Gain Flatness for easy expansion of the system by means of adding new wavelengths and nodes without manual gain adjustment and complicated system re-design work.

The optical multiplexor DW4200 can be used in the wavelength-division multiplexing networks DWDM. The client interfaces SDH, STM-256 to STM-1, Ethernet, GbE, 10 GbE, BitRateFree of 100 Mbit/s to 2.7 Gbit/s serve for connection with the public data networks with re-synchronization and re-tuning by λ transponder.

System parameters

Optical wavelengths in WDM section   Maximum   40   Minimum   1
Added or dropped optical wavelengths   Maximum   40 (in each direction)   Minimum   1

Technical norms (normal gain)

One and the same technical norms are applied to STM-64 and STM-16. In peak attenuation account should be kept of losses in cables, losses in FDP-connectors and permissible distortions of signal in point of cable repair in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
